Collection Blush in Bashful

(The Brand formerly known as Collection 2000)

Just because it's a drugstore brand and cheaper than many of its competitors doesn't mean we should overlook the ever trusty Collection brand, it's been around since I was a little girl and I grew up using it in my teens back when it was known as Collection 2000. I have to admit I still to this day call it Collection 2000 but I guess that's me showing my age.

It's no secret I don't wear a great deal of makeup, but that I do have a love for blushers, part of the reason I cover so many on my blog, for example the Makeup Revolution palettes Golden Sugar and Sugar & Spice.

I always carry Collection's Lasting Perfection Concealer around in my handbag but this post is about the Collection blush called Bashful, and I'll cover the concealer another day.

A little pot of of prettiness, at £2.99 from Boots or Superdrug it's quite surprising how pretty it is, you don't expect to get the little details at such a low price, but the pattern on the blush caught my attention, it's fairly simple yet attractive and that's before you even use the blush. Well done Collection.

Swatched below and as usual in shadow (left) and in sunlight (right) you can see the lovely fresh peachy pinkness of this blush, with the merest hint of a golden shimmer if you look careful at the sunlit swatch.

It's similar in my mind to a muted version of Sleeks Rose Gold which was all the rage a few years ago because it was such a Dupe for Nars Orgasm, both of which I've owned and loved. I say similar because obviously it's not a dupe but there is a hint of both Rose Gold and Orgasm about it.

This blush works well both swirled lightly onto the cheeks or layered a bit more to create more colour, it's buildable which I like, gives you more control over how bright it ends up on your face. A fantastic shade for pale skins like mine, and all for just £2.99.
